Neuromodulaters |
|
Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin – commercially known as Botox Cosmetic or Dysport - that are used to treat wrinkles, frown lines and crow’s feet. A minute amount of the neuromodulator is injected directly into the underlying muscle, causing it to relax and gradually smooth out the appearance of the overlying skin. The effects typically last about three months. They can also be used to treat TMJ disorders by relaxing the overactive muscles responsible for jaw pain, teeth grinding, and clenching. Injections into the jaw muscles block nerve signals, leading to reduced muscle tension, fewer headaches, and protection for teeth from damage. This is a minimally invasive procedure with temporary effects, usually lasting 3-6 months, and is often recommended when conventional treatments are not sufficient. Back to Services |
